Hosted by Terrence J and Regina Hall, BET’s Love and Happiness: An Obama Celebration was a star-studded concert with musical guests: Jill Scott, Common, Usher, Bell Biv DeVoe, The Roots, Janelle Monaé, Yolanda Adams, and more, held at the White House to serve as a, “love letter to President Obama and First Lady, Michelle Obama” in October of 2016.
Of the celebration President Obama said, “You got your block party. I’ve got my block party” — a reference to Chappelle’s 2005 film, Dave Chappelle’s Block Party.
